It’s summer in Texas, so you make for the shade to find your favorite hammock, and let imagined breezes waft over you. Not yet cool, you close your eyes and dream of a cool, sweet sunrise . . .

You’re getting some kind of vision now that involves beer and tequila, and you’re feeling uplifted. There’s a bouncy little song overlaying your mind—and yet you’re still hot. Despite its cheery chorus, you’re still not so happy . . .

Suddenly, you realize there’s a solution that will cool you off and make you happy. It involves a bar. So you abandon the shade for the nearest chilled Margarita with salt and a cerveza chaser.

Ahhh, happiness. The Texas heat is on your back burner. You’ve found the thing you love most about summer, and you’re holding it in your hand. You kick back, relaxed and chilled out, and glance at the bar sign. Then a nagging little worry bead tries to work its way into existence:
You’ve checked into the Hotel California bar. Can you ever leave?
With or without a cerveza, you can take a cool, virtual trip to Austin, Texas HERE.
I feel your pain here in South Carolina! Did Austin in May and it was already hot! Love your hammock shot!!

Thanks, Tina, I’m sure you’ve got “muggy” to add to “heat” there in SC. What did you like about Austin? The first time I ever visited Austin was in May, and by the following August, I was living here! Despite the heat.

Thanks, the hammock is pretty sweet. Especially with the margarita . . . where do you go to cool off?

Visiting New Mexico right now and feeling the heat. Makes me appreciate how moderate the climate is at home! I’m afraid I don’t have much of a skill set for dealing with intense heat – short of getting out of it!
