Marking the Memory

Not every photograph can be a masterpiece. Sometimes marking the memory is enough.  Tweet:

When the supermoon finally rose above the Grand Teton range last August, it was less dramatic than we had expected—just a white-yellow orb smudged with an orange blur. But after an hour spent watching for it, the moon was photoworthy nonetheless, as many photographs are, merely to mark the memory rather than make an amazing picture. And who’s to say which reason is right?
