Inspiration shows up anywhere and everywhere. But motivation isn’t as reliable. Motivation is more of a lurker, lying in wait . . . for what? A signal? A reason? A need?

Yes, that’s the odd and wondrous way the creative mind flows. We are gatherers. We absorb everything, our brains becoming massive disorganized foot lockers of ideas, memories, threads. We take it all in. We hang on to everything. Until motivation strikes.

My motivation to share these monochromatics came from The Daily Post‘s photo challenge. ♣

Where do you find yours?

  1. I should learn to think more monochromatic….

Just finished an odd painting which I had to try to salvage part of it before it became too dark. In the end, it looked like sun shafts of light shooting through water…

Just colour, shadow and heavy vs. light inspire me. Make my eyes and brain as open and porous during the creative process.
