City Reflections, Upsidedown and Wet
“Mirrors should reflect a little before throwing back images.”
—Jean Cocteau
Cocteau was right. It’s not easy to grasp the meaning in every reflection. Don’t quite understand this one? It’s from Lady Bird Lake’s downtown waterfront in Austin, Texas. You might recognize it as On the Lake, below, one of the images honoring the mix of patterns and light with reflections, in my Lightscapes series.

Jann, the colours in this shot are so excellent. They have an autumn feel.
Thanks, Shane!
Wow! Stunning.
Thanks so much. Do you like to photograph reflections, too?
I do. Haven’t posted any yet as there not very good :]
Strongly inviting and painterly.
I love painterly images, so that’s a nice compliment Sally.
The beauty of reflections bring more image!!
Beautiful contrast of yellow and blue. Great work, incredible light there.
Thanks Roberto, you sound like you’re familiar with Austin. Ever visit?
I have never been in Austin. I have been in Texas, though.
